Das marcas de azeites que testamos, boa parte dos que se dizem “extravirgens”, na verdade, não passa de “virgens” e alguns são até “lampantes”.
A PROTESTE já realizou quatro testes com esse produto, e, este foi o que teve pior resultado, com o maior número de fraudes contra o consumidor.
Verificamos se havia produtos adulterados, ou seja, comercializados fora das especificações estabelecidas por lei. E, também que preço e renome nem sempre são sinônimos de maior qualidade. O melhor do teste foi, de fato, o que custa mais caro entre os testados. Porém, nossa avaliação mostra que há outros produtos de boa qualidade que custam bem menos.
Fizemos a análise sensorial em laboratório reconhecido pelo Conselho Oleico Internacional (COI). Eles avaliaram a qualidade das amostras quanto ao aroma, à textura e ao sabor de acordo com parâmetros técnicos. Segundo a legislação, em azeites extravirgens não podem ser encontrados defeitos na análise sensorial.
Analisamos diversos parâmetros físico-químicos para detectar possíveis fraudes:
- Presença de óleos refinados;
- Adição de óleos obtidos por extração com solventes;
- Adição e identificação de outros óleos e gorduras;
- Adição de outras gorduras vegetais.
Na análise sensorial, apenas oito marcas tinham qualidade de azeite extravirgem de acordo com os especialistas. Entre as outras, sete alcançaram defeitos que, pela legislação, as caracterizavam como azeites virgens. São elas:

- La Espanhola
- Pramesa
- Serrata
As quatro marcas com problemas de fraude foram também consideradas, pela análise sensorial, como azeites lampantes. São elas:

E para lembrar do ditado “não julgue o livro pela capa”, as 8 marcas realmente sinceras com o consumidor são:

- Qualitá
